Boys don't grow up riding anymore. It used to be a story about a boy and his horse. Now its a girl and her horse. You don't see men riding except in the very upper levels, and it's even in the Olympics, for example show jumpers like Nick Skelton:
But outside that the horse industry is controlled by women. My great great grandfather rode and trained and broke in horses. Will men ever take it back? Why would it be considered "sissy" to know how to ride? Horse back riding is a very masculine activity . Not for the faint of heart. Girls broke it. Maybe this is less common in the UK? In America, a boy might even be asked if he would take ballet if he dares to take horseback riding lessons. Sad.
