Lip fullness is an important aspect in enhancing the aesthetic of the lower third. In moderation, the lips harmonize the entire face. Of course, there are exceptions but having full is nearly essential feature for male models.
This site will occasionally discuss lip fillers as a way to volumize the lips and possibly lip lifts as a way to show more "pink" of the upper lip but rarely, if ever, mentions lip implants such as permalip, which are gummy worm-like silicone implants inserted into the upper and lower lips. They come in three sizes: 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. The 5mm size often looks too big and fake, so it's likely best to avoid. The 3mm and 4mm sizes seem more reasonable without adding too much bulk and looking uncanny. Complications, which seem low, appear to be malposition and lip asymmetry. At worst, these implants can easily be removed given its silicone properties . However, compared to the possibility of repeated scarring and migration concerns posed by fillers and the unsightly scarring under the nose caused by a lip lift, lip implants seem like a viable alternative that should at least provoke more discussion here.
