Having a car is a dumb investment, I’d rather use public transit or use my parents car when I need to then buy a car, let alone one 10k+

For 10k I could use that to buy more things and upgrade my looks. Plus I can easily find someone to drive me later on :p

No, it's an investment for normies 99% of the time because they buy a brand new car straight out of the dealership and take out a loan on it like a fucking dumbass.

it’s good to have one but the normies that make having a car their whole personality or something to boast about disgusts me especially if they drive a truck

thats not an investment thats just a financially poor decision. An investment is something you expect to go up in value over time. No one buys a car expecting it to be worth more a year later

It’s not a bad investment if you absolutely need it, but there’s no reason why you should ever finance a car, or buy a car specially for getting girls. normies always say shit like bro just spend 30k on a bmw the girls will love it but not spend 30k to fix their looke

No, it's an investment. The word has multiple meanings, in this sense the word means putting money into an asset which will provide value, regardless of if there will be monetary gain after the fact.

I'll tell you what my dad told me when I was 18. You don't look at every big purchase as a profit or loss statement. Some purchases are purely emotional and if they truly do make you happy and satisfied without causing ruin. It's best to go ahead with it. You "waste" money on the things you love, spend the rest on investments that pay later and make do with bare minimum for things that don't matter. Happiness can't be measured and money is important but still paper. Make money, respect money and grow it but don't be afraid to use it for a good purpose. Money ultimately is something that should be spent for leverage and a better life. Not a keep safe.

Hmm that’s interesting. I don’t ever spend money and if I do I only look at it from a profit/loss or resale perspective unless it’s food, socks or underwear. To me it’s a good safety net unless something happens, I really dislike it when things loose value because its almost as if the item is useless. That’s why I’m afraid to buy a car, it just depreciates in value unless it’s a Toyota.

I don’t think I’ve ever bought something purely based on emotion. Shit maybe money does rule me

Yep it's almost essential especially if you go to a lot of places in country areas. Heck even in suburbs it's damn near necessary. There's no fucking public transport in the boondocks and you're not gonna be able to have someone else cater to you all the time and drive you around. Owning a car is your door to freedom to go where you please. Not to mention driving is insanely fun. The best memories of my life involved cars in one way or another. Going fast and feeling out the car's capabilities and being one with the car is a feeling nothing else can replace. If you get in tune with the car enough you can really feel the road and everything that's going on and enjoy it to the fullest

I was cruising at almost 100 mph a while ago in my car and it's a good feeling lol. I put 10k miles on my car this year and had a lot of fun
