Why are older generations obsessed with AI?

First of all some of them can’t tell even the most obvious of AI photos apart from reality. Second of all many of them are very obsessed with making AI more and more advanced and using it for automation in work and whatnot. Younger generations it’s mostly the opposite from what I’ve seen. Lots of kids cheat with it in school but also think that it could be dangerous if it goes too far and people start making fake videos that look completely real, replacing jobs, etc. Personally I get hardly any use out of AI chat bots because any information it gives you can be found pretty easily on Google and they also will literally make up fake information and try to play it off as real until you tell them it’s wrong. Like I asked what 3^9 was or something once because I was already using it and it just gave me a downright wrong answer.
