So I went to an orthodontist over the summer and he looked over my jaw. Said that my dental arch and general alignment of the upper teeth are damn near perfect. Along with there being enough space for my wisdom teeth to come in. But then I asked him about how my bottom teeth, particularly the ones in-between the molars looked. Because they're pretty crowded with one teeth in such a slant it is facing to the literal interior of the mouth.

HE SAID THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM???

I then told him that when I open my jaw really wide, especially for expended periods of time there is a feeling of my jaw clicking/dislocating. Told me it was because of tension and that I could fix it if I wanted to but it wasn't necessary. And that if I were to have my jaw open wide for long periods of time to just put a pillow on the side to stop it.

What. The. Fuck.

:feelsuhh:

No one cares about the lower teeth and of course if you strain your jaw by opening it in an unnatural way there's going to be tension

Even though only the top row of teeth are visible and is the visibly aesthetic part of the mouth, the bottom teeth are *still important*. If they're misaligned enough it's going to cause long term problems as the top and bottom teeth aren't able to perfectly or near perfectly connect. Along with it impacting overall facial aesthetics as the bottom teeth aren't able to widen to what they should be making the lower jaw far narrower.

Of course if you open you jaw to an unnatural level there is going to tension but the dislocation feeling even happens when I'm about to bite into a *burger* or if I'm opening my jaw to even take a better look inside the teeth. Problem becomes far worse when I actually go to a dentist where you have to keep your mouth open for long periods of time.

This wasn't even some random orthodontist, I found him through Orthotropics.com. The literal description above the map that shows their locations is " Orthotropics practitioners are located in many countries around the world, as are practitioners sympathetic to the orthotropic concept. Orthotropics therapy gives an individual the opportunity to change their health, their faces and their lives."

Low IQ take
Mew would advocate for surgery if needed, especially because he values aesthetics and health
