If by pale OP means a fair with red undertones color then there's no bad health problems correlated to it. In fact shows undamaged skin and DNA (from UV rays).

However during 1920s it changed and apparently brown skin was seen as more elegant and high status because Rich people had acces to traveling. Nowadays however again the white people with tan skin are lower class like Constructionworkers or Roasties.
