Why are people scared of forest at night

I feel more at peace in the dark than during the day

But I used to be scared of the dark

I live in the countryside and I was even afraid of going 20m away from my house because there's no light

Now I can go to the woods, I sleep outside, I can go anywhere when it's dark, and it's so peaceful
