Why are people with autism always so knowledgeable about random things like dinosaurs and trains?

This question came to me after seeing that a new herbivorous dinosaur species has been discovered, called Kryptohadros kallaiae, on the news in my home country, Romania. I instantly thought of autistic people and how knowledgeable they are in the most random subjects.

Here is a picture of the dinosaur, in case anybody cares.
