why are ppl still majoring in cs?

i was at the gym and talked to a group of seniors, and several of them said they wanted to cs in some mid tier uni

jfl junior engineer jobs are cooked atm, only ppl tht get hired are those from good schools who networked well

ppl at mid tier unis, career switchers or self-learners are coooked


better to major in some engineering field that's in demand, accounting or nusing etc

HOPEFULLY because they enjoy it or are passionate about it or something
