They are not swarthy as in they look Arab 24/7 of the time, I MEANT swarthy relative to the Germanics.

What do you mean ? If you're talking about leaders then it's beacuse the soviet union had a DEI program of sorts and was literally trying to minimise russians as much as it could. This is why it was teaching something like karelian to a 95% russian population as russians were the "colonisers".

Uhh idk I'm pretty dark and swarthy (my nose being slightly flared and my lips being fairly thick and also only having hazel green eyes and dark blonde hair) for a russian not churka tier tho and irl the most ethnicity guesses I've gotten was still europe north of the alps with many even saying I look British (I think that was actually the most common). Beacuse of my location I'm also tan whilst my natural skin colour is very pale. My mother who is less swarthy then me her most common guess is swedish. All of my great grandparents on her dads and further were all blue eyes blond hair and 6ft+ INCLUDING her great grandmother who was 6'2.

Interesting I'm Russian too with brown hair and dark eyes but quite pale skin with like warm undertones though and people have usually assumed I'm Spanish or some kind of med, even got Argentinian once.

My dads got a really interesting pheno though he's got black hair and dark eyes and is naturally kinda tanned, and as far as I know he's purely ethnic Russian. In turkey people assumed he was a local and spoke to him in Turkish lol. His mother is also the most high t looking women I've ever seen she looks kinda like a native American
