Why are sock lifts so uncomfortable?

I usually use normal lifts in my shoes and they are alright, i can walk pretty long in them

But when i put on sock lifts to permafraud, for example on a house party, they are uncomfortable asf and make my back hurt after 3 mins of wearing them

It should be the same mechanism as normal lifts, why do the sock lifts hurt so much?
