why are unc “bro lifters” so against new training ideas

some unc at my gym prolly 30 came up to me and told me to lower the weight for curls since their a small muscle and need high reps i tried to tell him this is wrong but he just ignored me and said u don’t know what ur talking about i could probably rep his max on bench he hasn’t made any progress

my general advice is to not give others at the gym advice since they will never accept that they are wrong. majority of the humans at gyms are fragile minded and want to be right about everything. if someone advices you, pretend like you will take their advice and keep doing what you have been doing
don't listen to jeff nippard, FBEOD & UL is law.

i’m doing ppl do you think it would be worth switching to UL

i used to run a split similar to PPL when i first started. when i changed to UL my progress skyrocketed, more than my beginner growth. FBEOD gives me even better progression but i enjoy UL the most out of all splits.
looking at the scientific literature we have currently the difference between FBEOD and UL isn't that big. experiment and find what works for you. majority of the friends i've put onto my UL schedule have not even considered other splits nor the splits they ran previously

It's very individual for me my body breaks down if I lift more than twice a week lol but i grow rapidly

twice a week? would that really be enough i used to go 7x a week but i lowered to 6 now im trying to go down to 5

Not enough but it's the only frequency that leaves me without paradoxical reactions like shit sleep brain fog etc. i grow at a pace that i consider ok and don't want to be huge or anything so ymmv
