Why aren’t all human males between 5’10 and 6’4?

Why are all giraffes similar height while human dudes have a height gap between each other like a guy could be 5 feet tall and another one 6’10 (both health)
Like 100 years ago the average height in the UK was only 5’6
1000 years ago it was 5’5

In racially homogeneous areas, there is less variance in height. Atleast that's what I've observed.

the average male height was 5'7 just a few centuries ago but is now 5'10 because of better nutrition and eugenics.
