Why arent days/nights longer than 12 hours in a heliocentric system with a spinning earth?

If the rotation orientations are equal then the days/nights will be longer if different then theyll be shorter

Wait nevermind im right that its weird it says it rotates around its axis every 24 hours and days are if anything shorter than that
