I saw this reel of some niggas making a queue infront of the apple store to buy the brand new $10k mac studio m5 ultra and iphone 18 pro on an EMI. Just started caging at them. Buying expensive computer parts or phones and going into debt for it is one of the most foolish things you and I say this as massive tech enthusiast and tech nerd.
You should never buy hardware you cannot afford for singular use case or a use case that you will start because of it. A course. A game. Iโm gonna train AI models / mine this coin and become rich. That $3k brick then sits in the case collecting dust while youโre eating cup noodles.
I know a bunch of niggas who coped themselves into this exact purchase. Yeah I need a top of the line GPU for so and so productive work or so and so game. Now the thing is unused and they are poorer. I am guilty of this too. I bought a bunch of woodworking tools thinking I will learn woodwork in my free time but never did.
Besides you can rent entire GPU clusters for pennies these days if you really need it. Cloud gaming exists too. Nvidia GeForce Ultimate and what not. You do not need to own the hardware unless you are actually using it every dat.
I already know some faggot in the comments is gonna be like but nigga you have an enterprise GPU in your home server and two top spec MacBooks so shut the fuck up you cunt.
Yes that's correct but it's also for work. I do this for a living and One of the MacBooks I have was literally given to me by the company. Before that I daily drove a 4 year old LG Gram. The only reason I even have an iPhone is I needed it for work. Otherwise I still use my old OnePlus 13 regularly.
Spend money on a computer only if the cost is trivial to your wallet, or it directly makes you more money.
Computer is a tool. Always was and always will be. It's not a BMW or a rolex that you show off or a stock portfolio to get a good return. It's just a tool and you only buy tools if you really need them. Status maxxing for silicon is completely retarded.
Do not povertymax yourself for a 5090 that you use twice a month.
