Why can you see my scalp through my very think hair when it’s wet?

For context I have super thick 3A hair. I have no type of hair loss or shedding.

I use curl cream and leave in conditioner to define my curls. I have used many different brands and types of curl creams.

Yet I still always have the same problem. In right after I apply the cream and it starts hardening(gelcast) you can see my scalp really easily through my hair and I don’t get why or how to prevent it.

This is my hair fully dried to show its thickness.

If anyone knows what’s going on please let me know and if you have similar experience how you fixed it.
