Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is an androgen hormone that is derived from testosterone and is more potent in its action. It is primarily known for its roles in male sexual development, secondary sexual characteristics, and androgenic effects such as increased body hair. However, it's worth noting that the impact of DHT on bone growth is not as straightforward as one might assume.

Here's a breakdown:

Androgens and Bone Growth:
Androgens like testosterone and DHT can influence bone density and growth, although they are not the only hormones that do so. Growth hormone, insulin-like growth factors, and estrogen are also critical. Androgens promote the closing of growth plates in long bones, thereby finalizing the length of the bones and stopping further growth. Testosterone is generally converted to estrogen in the bones, and it's the estrogen that actually helps to close the growth plates.

DHT Specifically:
DHT has a more potent affinity for androgen receptors but is not typically converted to estrogen like testosterone is. This means its impact on bone growth might not be the same as testosterone, and could be less influential in the process of growth plate closure. In cases of androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS), where tissues are insensitive to androgens like DHT, affected individuals can actually have longer bones, suggesting that DHT might indeed contribute to stopping bone growth.

Clinical Context:
In some medical conditions like delayed puberty or hypogonadism, androgens are given to induce secondary sexual characteristics and some bone mass accrual. However, these treatments usually have to be managed carefully to avoid prematurely closing the growth plates and stunting growth.

Research:
Research is still ongoing to understand the specific roles and mechanisms through which DHT and other androgens affect bone density and growth. Most of the current knowledge is based on animal models, clinical observations, and cellular studies, so more research is needed to establish definitive conclusions.

Summary:
In general, DHT might not be "inducive" for bone growth in the sense of making bones longer, and in certain contexts, it might contribute to the cessation of bone lengthening by contributing to the closure of growth plates. It's a complex issue involving multiple hormones and their interactions with different tissues in the body.

i heard dht lengthen puberty and remove the effect of estrogren, so if its true then you can be taller

dht is like a estrogen inhibitor,it also makes you more masculine, you would want as much possibe in puberty

i need a dht source pls can someone send me

hormones are so complex and act in conjunt yet they are treated individually in this forum. I for example have high dht as fuck and im boneless.

This is what I got from GPT chat. It literally took me 1 minute to get that essay.
In the future, if you want to understand the science behind a subject like DHT, just ask chat GPT. You'll get a much better response than if you asked on here.

And if you're doubting chat GPT because of it's liberal bias or safety bullshit. You can post what it says on here and ask users if it's true.

Then don't say it, your symptoms really mean little since the factors involved are countless

True, but while writing that, I had looksmaxing concepts in mind, such as bonesmashing, which chat GPT would say is harmful and may cause it to say things that are false.

As a result, an informed user could point out that it is incorrect.

It's just that when you ask questions like "WHY CANT ANY1 EXPLAIN WHY DHT IS NOT EFFECTIVE FOR BONESS" on here. I doubt you'll get a long, detailed answer describing the mechanism of action.

I believe chat GPT can be useful for such inquiries.

I asked it if bonesmashing worked just for fun: : https://looksmax.org/threads/chat-gpt-confirms-bonesmashing.808705/
