You're probably ND and unable to deal with reality, unlike most of these people (lowering standards, conceding on certain patterns of behaviour and getting rid of an abstract ideal of desire to participate truthfully in lived experience); or are under conditions that make you really be better off alone. I know I won't give up on certain inclinations, and if that prevents me from finding a stable long term relationship, then so be it, as I can live with that. In reality it's about effective practice, using the tools at your disposal, and modifying the intended outcomes in view of the utility of the tools for it (be it in search for more tools, be it renouncing to the initial outcome, etc.)
