Why cheek implants look bad

It all depends on the curve between brow to upper cheek corner AND the curve from outer eye to mid face (when look at 3/4). This guy had peek cheek and Infraorbital implants. In addition to the results looking very minimalistic , the 3/4 looks worse and here’s why. Because the curve proportions don’t fit. Just draw the curve from his Lower brow to lower cheek, then rotate 180. THEY DONT FIT . Therefore proportions are not balanced. I’ve included pics to show what I mean. But if the proportions were balanced he’d look a lot better, ive photoshopped a picture of what he could have looked like if proportions did fit.

Same in my case, I photoshopped his post op cheek shape onto me and it looks odd, but if I edit it to make the curves fit then look how much better it look - I rotated the black curve by 180, and they are an identical fit

People often complain that malar implant results are minimalistic and your post is just yet another case of this. For the ogee curve to really show, you need a combo of implants and buccal fat removal.

The result is kinda minimal ngl, only do them if you've fixed other major flaws first (Jaw, rhino etc).

Yes, cheek implants can often look bad because it's a complex curved surface that you have to get exactly right. It's not like a jaw implant, where the only important things are really width and vertical dropdown dimensions.

There's nothing wrong with custom cheek implants in principle, you just have to be extremely careful with the shape and size you choose.. which is difficult to get right the first time.

Actually no, I had standard cheek implants at first that didn't look great, I had them revised with custom.
