One leading theory is because of the life style people in tropics live. People from tropics hunt throughout the year, live on land that is extremely fertile, and it rains all year round. There is no need for planning, food is in abundance so they also live in simple mud houses because that sufficed their needs while people in colder countries had to store food and fuel because it wasn't always available and build proper well engineered houses that could with stand the cold. There was no incentive or a need for people in tropics to constantly innovate or do much. Life was just fine as is.

Tropics also naturally have a higher burden of infectious diseases and parasites. This created a "disease trap" that could sap labor production and shorten life expectancies discouraging the long term capital investments that became mandatory in the North. There was also less organized large scale wars because it was very hard to mobilize forces in the tropics and because of the abundance of land and resources most groups just chose to migrate rather than be forced into a fight for the same resource.

Tropical climates have easier but more unpredictable environment while colder climates have a harsher but more predictable environment. Colder climates needs this kind of foresight and planning ahead of time for survival.

So cold countries survived by capital accumulation and long term planning and those are the exact skills required to thrive in a world after industrial revolution. Agriculture stopped being a big source of wealth as evrything moved to an industrial and now IT society. But before it was all agriculture and this is one of the reasons why all major civilizations and ancient kingdoms emerged from the topics and later shifted to the colder countries after the industrial revolution

tropical countries are subhuman cause of the climate alone id never live in one i need my winter and fuck having it be the same weather everyday with no change

So why doesnโ€™t that apply within countries. Like why is the colder parts of china poorer than the hotter

I don't like winters. Cold gloomy and dark there's a reason why so many people in colder countries have higher depression. Better too hot than too cold.

it isn't a rigid law just a turned. In China's case internal politics and trade routes often and access to the sea overrided things.

Exposure to sunlight and warmer temperatures is linked to higher levels of serotonin. In the U.S there has been a decades ong migration trend from the colder Rust Belt (Northeast/Midwest) to the Sun Belt (South/West)

Because mosquitoes driven them out

Why is south east Asia so much better devolved than Africa

Familiarity leads to no evolution. You see that all people originated from the African continent but those who decided to stay there and maintain the same lifestyle did not really evolve or grow in any way. Sure they may have developed some better methods for their lifestyle but as you said the people who had migrated north and to other places in the world faced hardship causing them to progress
