why did an old lady ask me to turn off the walking dead in the lobby

I had the walking dead playing in the doctors office lobby one day and some old lady came into the office with her son and they sat there while the walking dead played on tv. The son got up and asked me if I could turn the tv off because his mom wanted it off.

Was she scared or what? Maybe she’s scared because she is the walking dead
