Why do all PSL Youtubers tell everyone to get a tan?

I am pasty pale but have blue eyes and dark hair/brows and feel like it contributes to a good contrast. I am not sure if a tan would even make me more appealing. Ian Somerhalder, Tim Chalamet, Daniel Radcliffe, Robert Pattinson, Paul Mescal etc are all high appeal to normie women and they are pretty pale. I think tan is halo for white western women but I always have ethnics compliment my skin tone (not just asians, persians and med types too). Convince me to get a tan because I don't see a reason too
