Why do beards get such a bad rap.

I understand they cover your lower third, but I've noticed as a black male that I get more looks and treated with far more respect with full beard compared to clean shaven or stubble.

Is it a racial thing or do I just have that bad lower third?

Pretty much all male models are clean shaven to show their lower third. Men will always give more respect to a man with a full beard Than to some who is clean shave.
