Because in most cases it's not that their mandible is actually recessed, or set-back.

The alveolar bone (that bears the teeth) is proclined forward a lot in many black people, a common racial trait (bimaxillary protrusion, often accompanied by bidental protrusion) which gives the impression of a recessed chin.

I don't know why, but simply having black skin seems to hide a lot of facial flaws, people who would look messed up as whites manage to pass off as normal as black.

But it's weird because blacks can look pretty aesthetic with light to dark brown skin, but then you make them full white and they look sub-human.

A good way to tell is if your chin lines up with your nasion and by looking at your chin height.
