The fertility crisis is less of some result of a religious thing but due to the differences of living in first world fully industrialized nations, people in the third world have kids in order to have them as extra help on farms or as security since these countries dont have gov pensions and need caretakers in the future or have to make more due to higher infant mortality rates thus they are more likely to have kids more, as soon as they adapt into industrial conditions their fertility rates collapse and stagnate

The countries involved today are not christian or ruled by christian ethics though, since the enlightenment the nations involved have explicitly embraced secularism as opposed to Christianity, reducing the middle east conflicts to christian vs muslim and using that as an argument to either religion is silly when majority of the nations the americans toppled were secular (baathist iraq, assad's syria, secular iran in 1953 etc)
