ethnics were telling me that this guy was some kind of genius, but i just peeked his wikipedia. He's just some jeet that made a bunch of obscure mathematical theories that noyone uses today nor had any practical applications, then died of amoebiasis because his fellow countrymen were too low in iq and agency to maintain basic plumbing systems.

White people glaze this nigga hard as fuck

i looked him up and apparently, he had no formal training in math, so its impressive that he managed to do anything

He was a jbmaxxer, some of his shit had some practical use but even hardy admitted a lot of it was basically just esoteric math, thing is you never know when something might find a practical application one day.

Overrated but not an entirely worthless sack of shit.

He was a genius though, he had no actual training in maths. A lot of mathamaticians of his time acknowledged him as well.

he was a genius, he didn’t have any formal mathematic education but yet still got invited to Cambridge by GH hardy

Imagine if he had lived more 30-40 years
It was unfortunate that he died early

Bro outshined Hardy who was already quite a prominent mathematician at the time. I don't like the word genius and prodigy since it's used quite often nowadays and I don't think the so called people under this category present day are actually geniuses/prodigies, but if I had to say Ramanujan would definitely be one of them

Also what happened to ur pfp? Tired of being a Aussie Sri Lankan larper?
He’s definitely one of the few who deserve to be called a genius/prodigy literally went from the slums of India to Cambridge with a scholarship to study with top mathematicians with nothing but pure talent

I changed my pfp because I was afraid that ppl would possibly doxx me for insults etc.

Sri Lankans are pretty much always called Indians online, so I just go with that now instead of constantly explaining why we're not the same.

There are bunch of euorpeans and jews smarter than him

Nah I've read his infinite series formulas. He was way ahead of his. He didn't provide proofs but he's easily one of the best mathematicians of his time.

His "mock theta function" was only given proof in 2010 and it was found to be completely true. It made headlines at the time. Mathematicians solve 90-year-old Ramanujan puzzle

A lot of modern day analytic number theory is built on his work, like Harmonic Maass forms and modular forms.

he was indeed a great researcher but ethnics' (especially indians) level of glazing is insane. nobody knows who emil artin is but he still mogs ramanujan

Nobody said anything about the level of contribution; in terms of raw talent and creativity Ramanujan is easily up there (keep in mind he barely had a formal education if any)

He had maybe the greatest intuition of all time

i get the point but this level of idolizing we see is still incredible its just weird ppl are talking as if he is the greatest mathematician of all time and ive never seen anybody glazing galois who never attended university and is ACTUALLY the greatest mathematician ever like this

did the original post or what the others and I say ever insinuate he's the greatest? I would say he certainly has one of the greatest mind in terms of the aspects I said. If you call that idolizing or glazing then so be it

It's a shame even with all the math uve learnt simple English gets to you :lul:
