The modern norwegians, swedes, danes and even icelanders are closer to ancient north germanic DNA than the modern german. There was less gene flow towards scandinavia compared to germany, that's why they remained purest. The ancient north germanic people inhabited south scandinavia and northern germany.

I have some graphics from some trustworthy guys, south Swedes I think have some dna from the continent which would be diluted. I'd think Norwegians would have high aswell but then I remember they brought back alot of Isles women as wives so that must've diluted it a bit whilst east Swedes never brought back any russian girls.
