Why do Fijian/Indo Caribbeans dislike South Asians directly from South Asia? (Observation from a couple of lads I know)

I have met three people who are of such backgrounds; every single one liked to associate with black people, white people, Arab people, western born east Asian people and people like themselves, but despised South Asians from their countries of origin and British born South Asians whose parents didn't come from Fiji/Trinidad/Suriname/Guyana/etc.

A good friend of mine who I met from uni and I still converse with today is an Indo-Trinidadian Muslim lad (normie tier) who doesn't like to be lumped in with South Asians (including South Asian Muslims) because they're "different", "too traditionalist" and "not hygienic".

I lived with him in an apartment at Uni with a group of six (including two foids; a strong HTB and a MTN) and a Pakistani lad lived with us, but said Pakistani never interacted with the Indo-Trinidadian.

Sanam from Love Island is Indo-Trinidadian.

Growing up as a Bangla Muslim diaspora in the Greater Toronto Area, I used to go this mosque that had a large population of Guyanese and Trini Muslims. They weren't bad to us. I mean the vast majority of the people there were Carribean Muslims with some Pakis, Banglas and indians. Some Afghans too.
