Thats a Jewnited States thing, in stalinist socialist Europe doctors work less then the average because of public healthcare, but this hugely depends on the region you are at. The con of this is way lower then US doctors but its much more worth it because time is unmogable

I consider the 24-48 shifts that medical professionals have one of the best perks of the career actually because you usually have a few free days after at least if you don't have really bad luck that some crazy high accidents happen in secession the whole week. I hate any job that is monotone with non chaotic work hours, it doesn't spike the adrenaline the same at all
i mean as a software engineer that is remote they can work 10 - 20 hours a week and still get paid like 150k for a lower tier job. And you can be at walmart while clocked in so i doubt its as flexible as that even with your free days.

All of these high professions are so fucked. If you graduate from a stem subject, you’re gonna slave away your youth. Fortunately where I live university is paid by tax payers, but if it wasn’t I would never go into college.
Money should be the last reason for going stem or med field, its a death sentence and you will be miserable if you had previously zero clue or interest about the career you are studying for and just go for the money, Software Engineercels are the worst offenders for this where i live at least because its mostly normies going in and then regretting it deeply with usually either quitting or taking 10 years to finish it because they were never aspie codecels who actually had some interest in coding stuff and seeing it come to life.
