why do humans instinctually think low social intelligence = low intelligence

logically it makes sense to define intelligence (iq) as just the raw comprehension and application of abstract concepts but if you come across as socially maladaptive no matter how 'high iq' you are, the human intuition will consider you low iq/mentally handicapped

its wrong and needs to change now!
