I just prefer the subtlety of the less gaudy “alt” style compared to the e-girl style, and personally I feel it signals a lot about a woman’s intellect too. Girls who tend towards the “alt” look are usually more intellectual. They probably read, watch films beyond netflix shit, and have interesting thoughts/an open mind. That appeals to me so much more.
i get you, some of them are just attention whores caught up in the trend. i remember back when liking women like these was considered non nt but now it’s pretty mainstream, basically the norm. actual genuine goth women are probably some of the nicest women i’ve ever met. whether it’s alt, grunge, punk, emo, or goth, they all seem to have one thing in common: they go for white guys or white passing guys. now that i think about it, i’ve never really seen one with an ethnic dude unless he’s from their own ethnic group
tbh if ur talking actual goth women, they are probably more similar to the alt girls I described
yeah they have similar contrasts within one another compared, same level of divergence basically. finding actual genuine ones like those are really rare these days. the whole tiktok e girl wave completely ruined the image of goths, turned something that was about depth, art, and actual subculture into some ‘aesthetic’ for validation. they’re some of the worst women i’ve ever met, the exact opposite of what you’d think women like those are supposed to be like. chad only fucking whores, zero personality beyond their whitening filters and dyed hair. the whole thing used to be about alienation, individuality, and standing out from the norm
