Why do I hate making eye contact?

Or looking at other people’s face while they’re talking to me directly or looking at me directly

When people talk to me I often stare off a whole different direction because I’m so awkward

Someone will be looking dead at my face while talking to me and catch me staring at my own shoes

I've never held eye contact until one of my class mates moved his head right at the wall i was looking at while talking to him (so that I look into his eyes while we're talking). I felt so dominated that day and since then I just forced myself and now I dont feel anything type of way looking someone right into their eyes, doesnt matter if its a guy or a stacy.
