Why do I love Makima so much? It’s pretty simple when I think about it. Makima isn’t just the best character in Chainsaw Man, she might be the future Queen of Waifus. Just imagine her walking through the streets of Tokyo, the wind in her hair, her elegant coat flowing behind her. As she walks through the city, the men swoon at her very scent. They know how she smells, the essence of her perfume could probably be sold under the name of “Divine Control.” The very nature of Makima is mystery. Could she be playing a deeper game than even her creator realizes? The answer is yes, she has transcended such boundaries as the written world, and has free will to do whatever she sees fit. However, Makima is filled with such guile, such smug confidence, such terrifying elegance that she does not even use these powers. Why, you might ask? You will never know, for the mind of Makima is not one that is easily penetrated. Makima is such a force of nature in her realm that nothing can truly touch her, the only thing keeping her bound to the story at all is her will to exist within the preordained boundaries of her world. Makima is not only beyond the comprehension of us, she exists within a plane of true control and beauty. Observe her calm smile, her absolutely breathtaking body, her perfect nose, and most importantly, her eyes. Her eyes, like glowing rings of gold, provide the only glimpse into the true machinations of Makima. Do not stare into them. Many good men have surrendered everything in the attempt. Makima is the kind of woman who could ruin your entire life with a single command and somehow make you thank her for it. Makima is not just a character, a formless collection of words and images, she herself is the binding that holds the saga together. Without Makima, the entirety of Chainsaw Man as we know it crumbles. Public Safety would collapse without Makima, Tokyo would descend into chaos, devils would run rampant without her commanding gaze. These are just a few of the reasons why I like Makima so much.
