why do i look so bad in my camera

i look better when i put my camera somthing level to my face but i look terible when i have like snap chat or somthing open and am right next to my camera and i still look bad when i strectch my arm far away from my face and take a picture does anyone know why this happens?

Yeah, this is totally normal and not cope. Camera angle, distance and lens type mess with how your face looks. Close up stuff exaggerate your nose, forehead etc. because of lens distortion. Most phone cameras use wide-angle lenses (~24 to 28mm equivalent). When you’re really close: Putting the camera at eye level or slightly above keeps proportions more natural, which is why you look better there. Basically, phones aren’t doing your face any favors when you’re too close, just move the camera further away or use a lens with a longer focal length (about 50 to 85mm equivalent) and your face looks much closer to how it does in real life. Professional portrait photographers do this all the time.
u might just be bad looking. Or something about filters and camera distortion

mirrors are accurate

but with normal lighting

In some mirrors I can make myself sub0.0001
