why do i still have remnants of gynecomastia?

i got gyno when i was 14 or 15, so i read articles about it which said that it would go away once i reached my late teens, so i stopped worrying about it. most of it did indeed go away over time. though while in with my left nipple there seems to be no gynocomastia left, some of the hard tissue below my right nipple did remain until this day. it's not really a noticable asymmetry and frankly not really a problem at all, though it does make me wonder. does anybody have experience with this?

You maybe have a mild case of unilateral gynecomastia. Mine didn't go away and I had surgery.
