Why Do Indians Desperately want to be Asian?

They have a point though, they are Asian, but ofc they are South-Asian not East Asian so idk if they want to be seen as asian which is ok (they are technically asian) or like "asian" like East Asian (which is not ok)

its pedantic as fuck, "asian" is just a figurative term for east asian for 99% of people, Indians just get weirdly offended over it
