I honestly dislike when Italians complain about Americans, Argentinians, Brazilians, Australians... whatever modifying Italian foods.

It's obvious that any diaspora when faced with a new reality (their new home/country) will adapt the food of their country of origin to accommodate the taste of the locals and the available ingredients.
