why do jobs allow smoke breaks but not alcohol breaks?

both tobacco and alcohol are similar. In order to buy both you have to be a certain age. Both will kill you if you take too much.

But at jobs they allow smoke breaks but if I wanted to take a break and drink a bit of vodka they wouldn’t allow it or even just a can of beer. No one gets drunk from one beer, but it’s not allowed. But someone can go smoke…

smoking/caffeine are stims alcohol is a depressant. Although just drink vodka/water in a water bottle and no one will notice.
