Why do landwhales hate it when you point out how much they eat?

Some time age (like 3 months maybe) I pointed to a landwhale in her early 20s (she's young , so she's vulnerable lol ) plate, which had a 2 doughnuts and a hot dog and said "wow, seems like you never had breakfast today" she said "yep" (almost about to cry it seemed) and then I said "I can tell" and laughed.

Seems I made her cry

Another time, I told a landwhale at my office, "wow, that looks like a lot of food, I couldn't eat all that" and she seemed very hurt

I don't get it? When I eat a lot and someone makes a joke or comment over it, I don't get hurt?

Maybe you saved her life, maybe she finally realized that eating like a pig is unhealthy, I used to be fat, but getting bullied all the time finally forced me to move my ass. Once you get fed up it is very easy to lose weight, because you start to hate yourself.

Also, if they don't like it when I do it, why not just eat less?
