Why do liberals ( in particular) go out of their way to look ugly?

I myself am no oil painting but I rally against ugly and seek to look my best . I notice those on the left in particular will not only embrace obesity, but also dress in the most frump clothes possible, color their hair primary colors (which doesn't flattter anyone) and indulge in tattoos which also look hideous. Its like they go out of their way to look as unattractive as possible. Their baseline would be at least average or slightly below but they pick the worst clothes, funny dyed hair, and ugly ink skin. Is there some psychological reason behind it?

I believe it’s a spiritual thing, and physiognomy aswell.
