Why do my eyes look better in selfies?

I don’t know if it’s just me but my eye area looks much better on selfies I do with Snapchat. Obv not selfies where you look down on your phone but selfies on eye level.
The eye shape looks better, the pfl looks wider and they just look more hunter like than on mirror or normal pictures. Probably has something to do with lens distortion.
Does anybody feels the same?

Because camera stretches your eyes horizontally

If you take it even slightly above eye level, it will give the appearance of reduced UEE
