I'm not a far-left liberal tbh more of a centralist so I hold very conservative values yet liberalism appeals to me in it's aim for the economy and other such things like that.

Thats not how they make their beliefs about the world. Im sure if you showed them something about the new heat capacity and tensile strength of a new titanium alloy, they would accept it. But if you show them data on women they wont accept it because that is not how they think about people.
