Why do old men like to chat to me about when they were young

For example at the grocery store I’ll be getting my takis and Red Bull and some old fart will come up to me talking about when he used to live in Canada and how his son owns a company and how he used to be strong. I mean I get that he’s reminiscing about his past but cmon old fart it’s time to move on
