like i genuinely don't understand it

it happens legit everywhere

you see people on here obsessing over join dates

niglets on tiktok "gatekeeping" things and acting like something they know/like is something super duper niche and not well known

what is the big deal with everyone wanting to be be different from everyone else? obviously you should be unique in some way but i don't get the obsession of being different from the world

in that context its because when new people start coming towards something you like, they usually make it worse
but i agree tbh some people hate on you for liking things normoloids like
even tho most things they like are trash (another reason) theres good things

successful people are unique intrinsically

if your unique there is a chance that the trait is more competitive whereas accepting being normal you have 0 chance of being successful

+ the new norm is bad, so people don't like normal
