Why do people demonize underachievers and rotters?

Title. People often associate success with visible milestones-prestigious jobs, wealth, degrees, or social status. If you don't check those boxes, ppl assume you're lazy, unmotivated or lacking ambition. Why is this the case? Even I used to a rotter and had nothing to show for myself a few years ago. People kept making fun of me and told me I am good for nothing.

I don't know cos i never looked at people like that. I don't care what someone achieved or what their job is. All i care about is how they treat me and how they look

Because it has been hammered into people since eternity that money, looks and status is the only way to happiness. You can see bucketloads of this here. That is why genuine monks are respected so much because they flip this narrative and are proof that you can live in peace without the material realities of life. But for the average man, escaping evolution is impossible. A man is wired to gather resources to attract a mate. To earn a higher position in the inherent human hierarchy. If you are a trust fund kid who got boat loads of money but decide to live a middle class life, people will still call you a loser. Imagine the plight of a homeless guy. Just World Theory is prevalent with regards to looks and ambition and poverty and basically everything. People connect your successess and failures to how much you achieve in career and dating. Ergo if you do bad there is something wrong with you. They cannot use their brain to think that maybe just maybe it could be due to other factors. Such is life and we witness it as an audience sitting in an amphitheatre as rotters

Overall extreme laziness is a symptom of depression ppl just like to sugarcoat it and call it demotivation but nah. I'm not blaming anyone for being lazy as a result of their depression tho

When you die you’re only remembered for what you contributed to society.
On your grave it will have the profession you were, Artist, Architect, Teacher, Doctor..

The same exists while you are alive.

Also people have some personal vendetta and superiority complex over somebody if he relies on the government’s money.

What even is being unambitious? Most people don’t really accomplish anything. Getting a normal office job isn’t a big deal or huge achievement.

I mean, I guess being a leech on your parents or something is a a loser trait, but as long as you aren’t something like that it hardly matters what you do.

same thing with intelligence, i have zero clue why people depise those who are unintelligent or at least appear to be unintelligent, i’m pretty sure they didn’t choose to be born unintelligent, just let them live their life bro

I think it’s honestly just a case of culture/ a primal heuristic.
People grow up being taught that there is nothing worse than the act of not contributing. Since the time they were kids, if they are in a group project and see someone not working, they get upset, if they seem someone lagging behind, they get irritated even if it doesn’t matter. They almost naturally want to punish such laggards . Even if it doesn't make a damn difference what they do
