Meanwhile in football its always win or go home so there's chance for more fluke wins from worse teams. Nah man i disagree. While ur statement isn't wrong and a lot of it depends on how you look at it, there's a few concrete reasons why football is harder then basketball for dyansties to from and last (which is why Tom Brady is easily the greatest athlete ever outside messi).
1) Injuries- No sport has more injuries and more brutal long-term injuries than football. Its hard to consistently have ur star players on the field with each other, which is why tom winning 7 is so impressive. Often times he had to win without Gronk, Edelman etc which is crazy. Compared to basketball where injuries occur far less and the injuries are not as serious, u start to realize how hard it is in football to have the band together at all times. Also the injuries mean players primes are way shorter in football, another reason why TOM is the goat. He played until 46 at a high level despite tearing his ACL and MCL in the past along with several concussion injuries.
2) The SALARY CAP- In basketball, because of bird rights, u can go OVER the salary cap to pay and keep ur star players. This makes it easier for orgs to overpay and keep their star players, because there isn't a limit to how much they can pay (there is a luxury tax to incentivize not overspending, but most owners don't care and will pay the tax because the playoff and championship money they get offsets this tax and often times gives them cash profit anyways). If a player has been with an org for at least 3 seasons (bird rights) teams can go over the salary cap to keep that player. When a player is traded from one team to another, the bird right years transfer over so traded and drafted players are WAY easier to keep in basketball, which means its easier to keep ur best players and continue ur dynasty. In football, there is a hard limit to how much u can spend (called a hard cap.). U cannot go over a certain number in football no matter what, which means its harder to keep certain players, there is more turnover of your roster and sacrifices have to be made.
3) Number of players on roster- There are 5 players on a basketball court. There are 11 players on the football field. This means in football more things can go wrong. Penalties, shit players, and unlucky occurrences occur more in football because there are more players. In basketball, if a team has a superstar player, u basically only need 1-2 other top players and ur set to compete for 5-10 years at a high level. In football u literally need ur entire team to be solid asf to even have a chance.

I could keep going but i don't wanna turn this into an essay. In the end both sports are hard and a lot of it comes down to how u look at it. I do think football is harder tho for the reasons i mentioned above. This isn't even talking about playoff format either, that's another debate for another time.

I have met and watched the likes of pereira, strickland, gaethje, burns, zhang wei li, and ngannou train irl. I have literally gotten grappling rounds in with a top 3 bantamweight and top 10 light heavyweight in the ufc right now (dont want to dox myself too hard) and for background im a blue belt in bjj although i only train nogi, and have placed at multiple wrestling tournaments, so i am confident i know more about fighting than the entire fucking forum and i can whole heartedly say you are a retard. @Kamui @GuyFromSingapore @tombradylover
