Why do people freeze in place when hey see me and do a double take?

I am pretty ugly and have an unusually large head and large upper back that keeps growing. Often time in public recently people see me and freeze and place and do a double take sometimes. They are often careful to not upset me.

I am pretty nuerodivergent and don't really care what people think. Maybe people pick up on this and i guess they leave me alone bc im a ticking time bomb.
