Why do people in this forum tend to underrate others?

I have come across several posts where individuals who is a 6/10 facially are given a lower rating of 4/10 by others and also saying it over for them

If you underrate someone you get to pretend that you see some sort of obscure flaw or assymetry that others don't see and thus have some sort of expertise. If you rate more generously then you are open to be mocked by the pseudo-experts.

Most people overrate themselves thinking 6/10 is some sort of average. If you set "nothing special" at 6 how are you going to distinctly differentiate between 5 levels below that all being some form of "nothing special", with only 4 options left for anything higher people end up ass pulling things like "11/10". No fault on those who do, they're not autistic basement dwellers but normie ratings are so unreliable and usually carry little rhyme and reason. Most people here will come to a more objective number with each level/tier being rather distinct
