Why do people in us get days off school so much

I’ve been playing GTA with this guy from the US, and their school got canceled four times in the last two weeks because of “snow.” Then he shows me that it didn’t even snow, and they still got a delay tomorrow too.


I’m from Europe and I honestly don’t remember the last time our school got canceled lol. Once someone sent a fake ISIS email to all schools here. It said they were going to slit all of our throats, make a river out of our blood, and drop bombs on schools.The school just texted us saying you can stay home if you want. Around 1k kids were still there.

I never got any days off. I think it varies between states and jurisdictions.

I believe the us school system is much less centralized than in europe
