physiognomy seems very obviously true. i haven't really thought it about it spiritually, but it makes perfect sense biologically.

since a gene does not control singularly one characteristic, it's possible that a single gene which controls a physical feature also controls a psychological feature.

hormones also play a role. for example, testosterone in youth can simultaneously affect physical features and psychological ones. which is a reason why AI can identify criminals based on their face like you mentioned.

this is probably less significant and acts more as an amplifier, but it's also societal. for example, people with certain traits, let's say a wide skull and prominent brow ridge, will of course be treated differently than someone with the opposite features. which will of course have an influence on their personality.

also anecdotally, even for people who don't even know what physiognomy is, can make clear correlations. when was the last time you saw a masculine man act feminine (and vice versa)? it's obviously like that for a reason.

i think the reason people don't like the idea of physiognomy is because it (kind of) interlinks with genetic determinism, which is of course not easy to accept. this could be why astrology is more preferred than physiognomy, because birth month is not genetic.

speaking about astrology, it's very interesting how normies (especially women) choose to glorify it over physiognomy. again, it could be because it's spiritual and not genetic, but there has to be more factors. maybe it's just because astrology is more mainstream and they don't want to fall outside the overton window?

I think life decisions and experiences can affect it too but I have no proof. It could be connected to your thoughts and nervous system. You look at any demographic and patterns emerge. Certain people work certain jobs. That chud dude that flipped out and was banging on someones door was literally a meme before it happened.

I;d assume its because of the amount of variables that can change your morphology, meaning its super difficult to accurately judge someone based off of their physiognomy, eve AI models have a hard time guaranteeing something based off of solely physiognomy

@EthiopianMaxxer covered a lot of good points, but simply if we evolved this tendency to make assumptions about psychological traits based on external traits, its because it provided information.

However, direct information from someone is still far superior so its not a pseudoscience but essentially useless unless you have no alternative information source. For example, if we have their physiognomy v. direct testimony from them (unless there's some motivation for deception obv) then the latter is far more reliable.
